Veils and More.....

Yes, yes, yes, VEILS are for weddings, either religious weddings or civil weddings and so on. Veils are neither old school nor out of fashion.

In other to get the complete Bridal look you should introduce a veil. Ehn! what did I just hear? Someone said “veils are churchy” Nooooo! No naa! never! It Is Never Churchy.

Okay let’s do this to know if it’s churchy or not (I mean religious) or not. Whenever you go for fittings, try on two or more veils and see how it looks on you and then you decide if it’s churchy or not. Though there are different types of Veils, it all depends on the one that fits your dream dress and you prefer best.

Mind you the only time you can wear a veil is on your wedding day (that’s a fact oooo).

CATHEDRAL VEIL – This is a veil that is longer than the dress train itself, the minimum length is 2.5meter and it may be longer than this, it is usually worn for a grand wedding.

SHORT VEIL – This varies in length, there is the birdcage veil, there is the elbow length veil, the shoulder length veil, the half back length (or the bra length ).

DOUBLE TIER VEIL РJust like the name implies it is a two layer of veil with one layer  longer than the other, the edges of the veils could be embellished with appliques, trimmings, embroidery, lace e.t.c or you cn decide to leave it plain.

MANTILA VEIL – This is a Spanish traditional veil with a scalloped edge or round edge, it is mostly made up of lace or Tulle with a lace trimmings.

CHAPEL VEIL – This is a fun type of veil and it falls to the floor and extends just a few inches or centimeters. It is an iconic veil and very traditional.

Remember there are tips to choosing your kind of veil

  • Find the veil that suits your type of person.
  • Use a plain veil if you are already using a very embroidered dress but if your dress is simple then choose a well embellished veil.
  • Also use the same colour of your dress for your veil.
  • Do consider your hairstyles before youdetermine the style of veil you will wear for your bid day.
  • This is very necessary – think of how long you want to wear your veil.

Now that you’ve gotten all this ideas, go out there and include veil in your bridal outfit and if you already have it in your outfit just make sure you choose the right one.

Best of luck to you, don’t worry you will be the most beautiful You on your wedding day…..
